Why Does Skin Age?

You age, visibly and invisibly, every day. Sun damage, internal inflammation, chemicals, and even gravity all work against the youthful vitality of your skin.

As we get older, our ability to repair this constant damage is diminished dramatically. Since fewer regenerative stem cells survive to carry on the work, slower, less robust healing and greater levels of inflammation are inevitable.

How It Works

MICRO-NEEDLES CREATE MICRO-CHANNELS

MICRO-NEEDLES CREATE MICRO-CHANNELS

MICRO-NEEDLES CREATE MICRO-CHANNELS

Precision micro-needles are tapped into the skin creating uniform micro-channels. A single pass over the face using the ProCell system will create hundreds of thousands of micro-channels.

STIMULATION OF A HEALING RESPONSE

Each micro-channel is surrounded by healthy tissue, which enhances the healing process. In response to each microinjury, an inflammatory healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen.

SMOOTHING OF THE SKIN SURFACE

SMOOTHING OF THE SKIN SURFACE

Over time, the repeated healing process will build new collagen, creating healthier skin, improving the surface texture and the overall appearance of the skin.

ProCell Serums

ProCell’s full line of serums contain a unique formulation of growth factors derived from stem cells found in human bone marrow. These growth factors are naturally anti-inflammatory, making them superior to other sources of growth factors such as adipose tissue stem cells or fibroblasts. ProCell’s growth-factor serums promote more youthful-appearing skin, and lead to quicker recovery times from procedures.

FAQ

Below are some of the most common questions

How does ProCell microchanneling work?

Procell's microchanneling system is a “lunch-time” treatment that transforms the look and feel of damaged skin to a smoother, and healthier looking skin.  During the treatment, very small micro-needles penetrate the upper layers of your skin creating small, micro-injuries. These micro-injuries stimulate a natural healing response, which leads to the creation of new collagen. Over the course of several treatments, this repetitive healing process can create a new layer of collagen that can improve the overall appearance of your skin.

What does ProCell treat?

Microchanneling can be used anywhere on the face and body where skin imperfections are located. Treatments can smooth out imperfections and improve the surface texture of your skin.  Your skin will appear cleaner and healthier after a series of treatments.

What does a ProCell treatment feel like?

Most patients report warmth or minor skin pricks as the treatment is delivered.  Many find the treatment relaxing and comfortable. Most patients can tolerate superficial treatments without any topical anesthetic.  For deeper treatments or more comprehensive coverage, you should speak with your treatment provider about a topical anesthetic.

What should I do prior to my ProCell treatment?

  • It is recommended to avoid sun exposure for 48 hours in advance of your treatment.
  • Please wait 10 days after getting botox and 2 weeks after getting fillers before doing ProCell.
  • If you have frequent episodes of cold sores, taking Acyclovir or Valcyclovir starting one day prior to your Micro-Channeling will reduce the likelihood of a recurrence due to your treatment.
  • Discontinue Retinol (2% or higher) or Tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
  • If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen before treatment may reduce your discomfort.
  • If possible, please arrive at our location without makeup and with a clean face.
  • If you are being treated for hair loss, please arrive at the office with the shortest haircut possible. Please do not apply sprays or gels to your hair prior to your treatment.
  • If you are being treated with PRP or PRF, drink an extra 24-32 oz. of water for 2 to 3 days prior to treatment.

Is there a downtime following my ProCell treatment?

Most patients experience a mild redness following treatment.  This varies widely based on the patient and skin type. Redness can last from 60-90 minutes. Apply makeup after 90 minutes.  More aggressive treatments will extend recovery periods. You may apply makeup to the treated area one hour after treatment and return to normal activities.

How many ProCell treatments do I need?

Everyone is different in terms of their needs and expectations.  Speak to us about your expectations and be patient, as the best results are usually seen after a series of treatments.

Is the ProCell microneedling treatment safe?

Microneedling treatments are very safe and side effects are uncommon.  Microneedling has also been shown to be safe to use on all skin types.  While microchanneling treatments are safe and effective for most women and men, there are some people who will not be good candidates for treatments. Here are general contraindication:

  • Pregnancy – if you are pregnant or nursing you are advised to not receive any microchanneling treatments. To date there have been no studies conducted to see what effects these treatments may have on the unborn child, but as a general rule, pregnant women should stay away from any type of cosmetic/elective procedures.
  • Diabetes - unstable diabetes patients should not be treated due to healing problems.
  • Active Herpes Simplex in the treatment area - treatment is possible once the outbreak is healed, however it may be advisable to take prescription strength antiviral medication to keep this condition in remission during the treatment series.
  • Dry skin - if your skin is overly dry, you will need to start moisturizing and ensure the condition is under control prior to undergoing any treatment.
  • Any active inflammatory skin condition e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site (because it may aggravate the condition).
